Photography Competition


The Chelsea International Photography Competition is organized by Agora Gallery in New York City. This competition provides a great opportunity for the exposure of work by amateur as well as professional photographers alike. With a distinguished panel of jurors and prizes valued at more than $55,000, the Chelsea International Photography Competition is an excellent opportunity for photographers seeking the possibility of national and international acclaim.

The work of selected artists will be presented at Agora Gallery, located in the heart of the Chelsea arts district in New York City. The Chelsea International Photography Competition exhibition will be open in late January 2018.

CALL FOR ARTISTS
2018 TOWN CENTER ART SPACE EXHIBITION


CALL SUMMARY:                         
The City of Santa Clarita Arts and Events Office (AEO) and the Santa Clarita Arts Commission (SCAC) are seeking artists or artist teams to design and display art exhibits of various types at the Westfield Valencia Town Center Art Space.  This is an opportunity for artists located in Los Angeles and Ventura County. 

PROJECT:
For the past seven years, the City of Santa Clarita and Westfield Valencia Town Center have collaborated on bringing quality art experiences to the public.  The Town Center Art Space, which is an open 20 x 20 foot space on the lower level of the mall adjacent to the food court and just outside of Sisley Restaurant, has been used for this purpose.  The AEO is seeking exhibition proposals from individuals for this space for the upcoming season of displays (January 2018 through mid-November 2018).  Sculpture and installation work are encouraged.  Paintings and other 2D work are not accepted for consideration.  Exhibits will be featured for four months at the location.

BUDGET:
All selected artists (or art teams) shall be awarded $500 for the execution of their art exhibit, which includes the artist design fee, project-related travel, consultation throughout and project fabrication, and other artist-related costs.  

ARTWORK THEME(S):
Although the City of Santa Clarita, AEO, and SCAC do not endorse any restriction on any particular artistic content, in making decisions the project’s Artist Selection Panel will consider the fact that people of all ages will see this artworks(s). 

TIME LINE:
Artists must be able to organize and mount the proposed exhibition by January 1, 2018.  Exhibitions could open at a later date in the year, which will be at the discretion of the Arts and Events Supervisor.

Call for Artists - LAAA Artist Screening

For California artists

Los Angeles Art Association (LAAA) is pleased to announce our New Artist Screening open call.

Deadline to submit is on or before September 15, 2017 at 5pm.

LAAA is committed to serving emerging artists of all media. Gallery 825 on La Cienega Boulevard in Los Angeles is the exhibition arm of the organization. At this venue and at offsite exhibitions, LAAA hosts a wide variety of group shows, solo shows, lectures, workshops and artist talks. All LAAA exhibition opportunities are juried by regional and national art professionals while giving emerging artists access to the highest level decision makers in the art world

Eligibility: Open to all emerging artists living in the U.S. Entries must be recent work created within the last three years.

Media: All media. No craft or functional art. Video must be under 10 minutes in duration. For video, please upload to YouTube, Vimeo or your preferred video sharing site. Then copy and paste the URL in the appropriate fields below.

Entry Fees: $35 for up to 5 entries. Entry fees are non-refundable.

Online Submissions: Images must be under 1MB.

Deadline to complete the online form: September 15, 2017 at 5pm. You will receive an email, confirming the committee's decision on or before by September 20, 2017.

If accepted, prorated membership dues for September 2017 are $175. (annual dues are normally $290)
